The Appeals Sub-Committee meets when required to
determine:
Appeals against refusal of applications for Home to School transport
which do not fall within the Local Authority’s policy for
provision of transport.
Housing Appeals for accommodation outside the
Council’s approved policies on referral by Officers or by
three Members of the Council.
Appeals under the statutory provisions relating to
nurseries, playgroups, childminders and residential
homes.
Appeals against refusal of application for Local
Council Tax Discount.
Appeals in accordance with Section 17(3) of the
Health & Social Services and Social Security Adjudication Act
1983.
Complaints about the School Curriculum and
collective worship in accordance with Section 23 of the Education
Reform Act 1988.
Appellants should note the following
information:
Appeal forms must be received at least 15 working
days before the date of an appeal. Appeals received after this
deadline may not considered until the next scheduled
date.
The agenda for an Appeals Sub-Committee will be
published 5 clear working days before the date of the meeting.
Appellants will be informed in writing of the date of their
appeal.
