Objection to Building Height in the Proposed Mackenzie Homes Development

We the undersigned petition the council to consider our concerns with the planning application P-19639-001. Sites A and B 352-372 and 324-340 Bath Road.

We strongly oppose the overall eight storey height of all the proposed dwellings in the development and in particular, the height of the block B3, Site B at the edge of Burnham Lane. B3 is not in character with the rest of the development and out of place in relation to the surrounding area. It would be more in keeping with the rest of the design if all units were the same height of 6 storeys or lower.

The development is not in keeping with the well-established, quiet, local area and does not consider the significant impact on local resources such as increased traffic in an already over-trafficked zone, the resulting impact on traffic volume in Burnham Lane, nor address the existing lack of available GP and school spaces.
Residents' outlook will become unacceptably closed in with buildings of such height. They are over-bearing and will create an unacceptable loss of privacy to surrounding properties. The impact on outlook will also directly affect residents' enjoyment of their properties. There will be significant impact on light and noise levels.

We also have concerns regarding the number of parking spaces available to the proposed 291 units. We feel that the under supply of spaces will have a marked impact on the surrounding areas.

We urge Slough Borough Council to take these comments into account when reviewing this application.
