Seconded by Councillor Mann,

 

"Thediversity ofSlough's communityis aproduct ofthe town'slong andproud historyof welcoming people fromall overthe world.

 

ThisCouncilistherefore concernedthat Clause9 ofthe Nationalityand BordersBill,viaits powers to removecitizenship fromindividuals, willcreate asecond-class tierof citizenship for naturalisedBritish citizens.

 

The Councilagrees towrite tothe HomeSecretary toask;

 

·  Thegovernment removeand replaceClause 9from theNationality andBorders Bill;

·  Workwith LocalAuthorities andcommunities to build afairer andmore effective asylum system."
