Support Contract for Family Support Practice Ltd Renewal 22/23

Decision Maker: Executive Director - Finance and Commercial

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

The contract for Family Support Practice Ltd was due to expire on 31.03.22. The recommendation was to award a one-year contract to the incumbent supplier, Family Support Practice Ltd, for the project management and development support for Adult and Children’s and social care Case Management Systems

The one-year contract was approved to ensure the Council would have continued project management and development support for Adult and Children’s and social care Case Management Systems beyond 31.03.2022

Decision:

The Director approved the award of a one-year contract to Family Support Practice Ltd for the project management and development support for Adult and Children’s and social care Case Management Systems from 01.04.22 – 31.03.23.

Alternative options considered:

The only option available to the Council was to award one-year contract to Family Support Practice Ltd for the continued project management and development support for Adult and Children’s and social care Case Management Systems

An exemption was requested to waive the process under the grounds of Demonstrable Best Interest (clause 14.9b in the CPRs). Family Support Practise Ltd have been involved with SBC and both the Adults and Children’s services for over 10 years. The institutional knowledge of Family Support Practise Ltd is invaluable and vital in supporting both adults and children’s to deliver their statutory services.

The knowledge embedded in Family Support Practise Ltd means there would be an unacceptable to the service if the contract was not renewed and will reduce the ability for children’ s and adult social care to deliver statutory services. In our opinion, the risk of failure to deliver statutory services out ways the benefits of any potential cost reduction via competition.
