2nd Year contract extension for the Council’s website & digital platform (JADU)

Decision Maker: Executive Director - Finance and Commercial

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

The contract for the Council’s Website and Digital Platform (JADU) is due to expire on 23.02.22. The recommendation is to take the option of the one-year contract extension as JADU powers the Councils website, online forms, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and is crucial to the digital strategy and enables residents to self-serve. This is permissible under the current terms of the existing contract.

The JADU product is the digital platform for Slough that power the website and the delivery of an increasing number of digital services. With over 130 online forms, the website enables residents to self-serve, saving the council money. The website receives over 163,000 visitors per month and is the front door to the council and its digital services.

The initial contract was clear that the Council may exercise the option to extend the initial term for three possible 12-month extensions. The Council decided to exercise this option for the renewal.

Decision:

The Chief Officer approved the one-year extension with JADU for the Council’s website and digital platform at a cost of £0.104m, from 24.02.22 – 23.02.23 under the terms of the existing contract provision. The current contract terms allow for 3 extensions of 12 months following the first year.
As no alteration was being made to the overall nature of the services as set out in the initial procurement documents, the Council can demonstrate compliance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
