The licences for the Council’s email and
web gateway Clearswift appliances are due to expire on 31.03.22. A
competitive competition was undertaken but there were no bids
returned which indicated that there was no competition for these
requirements in the market. To ensure continuation of service,
Procurement recommended IT approach the incumbent supplier for a
quotation and subsequent contract award.
The one-year contract was approved to ensure the Council has
continued filtering and protection on incoming and outgoing emails
as well as website access by staff. Not renewing the contract could
expose the Council to viruses, malware, and undesirable
content.
The Director approved the award of a one-year
contract to Wavenet for the supply of the Council’s email and
web gateway Clearswift appliances licences from 01.04.22 –
31.03.23.
A competitive competition was undertaken as
per the Council’s Corporate Procurement Rules (CPRs). No bids
were returned which indicated that there was no competition for
these requirements in the market. Procurement recommended IT
contact the incumbent supplier for a quotation and subsequent
contract award
